If the answer is “no”, then you might consider some piece of software created by Creative Synthesis Collaborative, a research group with a big heart for open source projects.

According to the projectmanager, the software is pseudo-genetic. The group designed an algorithm-based system which more or less operates as genetic material. Every variable, the so-called “gen”, determines a characteristic of the website. Each “gen” mutates based on the behaviour of the surfer, resulting in a website modelled on the preferences of its visitors.

The software will initially be targetted on blogs, but the creators are also keeping online advertising in mind. When the system is fully operational, theoretically the ads will be mutating to match the surfers’ preferences.

The first few tests were quite succesful, but the real challenge lies ahead in a dry-run on a high traffic site. When that testing period is finished, the Creative Synthesis Collaborative will make the software available for free.
